FINALLY made it to Salvation Mountain with only 45 minutes of sunlight! We ended the day singing one of my favorite hymns “Be Thou My Vision,” while the sun was dying.
Today the Secret Garden decided to take a trip to Salvation Mountain, which according to Map Quest should have taken us only 3 hours but when you’re in a car full of girls [meaning multiple bathroom & coffee stops] it ACTUALLY takes 7 hours. Before arriving at our destination we took an impromptu stop at UC Riverside to drop of our sister Stormie and it took us 20 minutes to find the on campus Coffee Bean [WHICH YES, WAS NECESSARY]. Then WE NEEDED TO SEE THE DINOSAURS, so we time traveled to Cabazon, to see Mr. Rex and Mrs. Dinny. This place is the coolest, because it emphasizes the Creation of the world by a Designer rather than the theory of natural selection discovered by Darwin. This place is prefaced with the moto “By CREATION, not CHANCE.” It was so awesome to visit this place after spending a semester studying the Cosmos and reading Bacon & Newton who were scientists who believed in a created world. What a wonderful things to be able to view the world with the knowledge that it was created by a magnificent and loving GOD.
